- Fionn Mac Cumhail was in the Croagh one day and he left the track of his heel in the mountains. The hole filled with water and it is known as “Fionn Mc Cumhail’s Pond”It is narrow at the bottom and wide as it comes up. It never fills to the top. There are two flat stones shaped like pans near by and they are called Fionn Mac Cumhail’s Pans. The story says that the giant used to make his bread in them.
