  1. Not a quarter of a mile from Rathcunga we have an altar-slab where the hunted priest celebrated Mass in the Penal Days. This scálan is still distinct, a striking feature on the farm of Mac Gonigle of Bally-magroarty. There is a similar one in Rockhill known as Luga- mílídhe.
    In the townland of Lurgan we have got a cairn which according to local tradition served the same purpose as the altar slabs.
