(A) Once upon a time, there lived three men, who could not speak in English. They could speak nothing but Irish. On their way to a fair one day they made up their minds to learn all the English they could.
The first man heard the words “We did it; we did it”. The second man heard the words “For forty pounds” “for forty pounds”, and he learned them off by heart. “We'll be hanged” “we'll be hanged” was what the other man learned.
When the three men were going home, they found a dead man on the road. While they were looking at him a policeman came up and asked them in English who killed the
