  1. Long ago people carried on business after mass. They did not give money in exchange for goods they bought, but gave cattle instead. Fairs were held at farmer’s yards and on the roads. There were many words used in buying and selling such as “boot” and “tick”. Boot, is used when you want a higher price for what you are selling and tick is used when you want something on credit.
