They used to eat oatmeal porridge and oat-bread and fish and potatoes and and [sic] they drank milk. They did not eat bacon because they said it was not clean. Wooden vessels were used before cups. Tea was not used in Ireland until over eighty years ago. In olden times people kept the table behind the wall.
