Some of them are very bold and when they come into a house they ask for nearly everything they can think off [sic]. Here are some of the things they ask for, tea, sugar, eggs, butter, bread, milk, bacon, potatoes and turf. Some of the men make tins and the women and children go round the houses selling them.
