  1. Potato bread
When making potato bread boiled potatoes mashed up finely are used. Also a little flour and salt is added. The mixture is rolled out on a floured bake board and kneaded after which it is put on the pan and left on the fire for some time until a brownish skin is formed on both sides.
    Oaten bread
Oaten bread is made from oat meal and a little salt mixed together with a small quantity of boiling water. Then the mixture is turned out on a bake board and kneaded into a flat round and left like that for about an hour at the end of which time it is put on a grid iron which is set up before a clear turf fire. When baked it is hard but very nourishing.
