  1. There was a man one time who had a cow and one day when he went out to the byre to milk her to his great surprise he found a hare in the byre sucking the cow. This man had a very big cross dog which would not like to see any person coming near to the house so the man wondered very much as to how the hare could have got into the byre. He put the dog on the hare which finally caught it by the leg and bit it badly. To his great surprise the hare began to shout "Let go: it is me" and to the wonder of the man turned into the form of a woman whom he recognised as his neighbor's wife.
