  1. When Rover came to live with us,
    He was so very small.
    He went right under pussy,
    Without touching her at all.

    He came when I was only three,
    All curly, shiney black.
    He swiftly grew up big and strong,
    And rode me on his back.

    They saw although eleven years old,
    I’m still a little boy.
    And Rover though he is only eight,
    I growning old and stard
