  1. One night a man was going out to play cards. When he was walking up the back road he heard a neighbours horse and cart coming out of the cowlane. The man stood in behind the gate to catch the horse, but the horse and the cart never came. He went down to the house from which he thought the horse had come from, but the horse was in the stables. The people were sitting round the fire quietly. It was a ghost he heard.
