    There was a great storm in the year 1839.

    of ten feet. Some houses near the streams were flooded as high that the people had to leave and take shelter in another neighbours house. A blast of wind sent the roof of Charles Mc Groary's house in Tullynaha up in the air a mile. Soon after there came a great spell of dry weather that dried the pools and rivers. A man named Thos. Brogan of this townland had to carry water from the river a distance of one mile and a half.

    It is said that if a man misses a ridge when setting potatoes there is some one to die in that house before a year.

    It is said that if a man misses a ridge when setting potatoes there is some one to die in that house before a year. This happened one year in a house of Andy Meehan's, Tullynagrena. When he was setting potatoes, he missed a ridge in the middle of the field and before a year his sister died.
    Another saying is that if a hen crows at a house, that hen should be killed
