Once upon a time there was a man named John Boyle. This man was a good maker of candles. He used to go to the town every day for a lot of fat to make them. When he would have them made he used to go out and sell them through the townlands. He went one day to a house to sell them. The man asked him did he make them himself. The man's name was William Gallagher who lived in Golands. He wouldn't believe him. He told him that he would let him board for a night if he would make a dozen for him. He said he would make them in a half-an-hour so he started. He had them done the time he said.
