    At one time there was a great disaster in Bruckless. There were up to thirteen heads of families lost.

This time the woman called back to the witch the dish was turned over. She left the room and came to the kitchen. She pinned her shawl round her neck and said "I am long enough here". She walked out and no one ever saw that woman in the district again. The alarm was given and the people rushed to the shore to find that all the boats were down only one, and that one was the boat which contained the man that gave the witch alms that morning.
