  1. Warts—(1) Get ten rushes and rub nine on the wart in "The name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost". Bury the tenth and put the other nine in a parcel and whoever finds the parcel will get your wart.
    (2) Rub baking soda on it for nine nights.
    (3) Rub a black snail and hang it on a branch of a tree. When the snail withers, so will the wart.
    (4) To rub water that you get in a hollow stone without looking for the water.
    (5) Rub bacon on the wart and then bury the bacon.
    Burns—1. Rub lamp oil on the burn; Flour; Ink.
    2. You get the cure of the burn if you lick the belly of an ash-leaf—leech—in “The name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.”
    Mumps—1. If a person whose father and mother are of the same name lead you on a halter to a south-running stream you will be cured of the mumps.
    Measles—1. If milk is brought to a ferret to drink and the leavings are brought home, it will cure the measles.
