Lough Haver Lough McFaut, Lough Fislis. Holy Wells-Beside Lough Columcille on the top of Cashelard Mountain is ta holy well supposed to be blessed by St. Colmcille. St. Patrick’s Abbey Well. beside Ballyshannon, blessed by St. Patrick. A {…} is held here every year on or about the 15th August. A Holy well is said to be on the farm of Patrick Gallagher of Kistenaugh beside Cashelard Church. A Holy Well is also on the farm of Samuel Tiveny [?] of Coolcocly, about three quarters of a mile from Ballyshannon the the Donegal Road- Three lines stained seativel [?] over it. The legend is that St. Columcille called at the nearest farmhouse and asked a drink. They offered him water but the saint refused it and crossing over the field stopped at the place where the well is(continues on next page)
