  2. Where was a farmer living on a hillside near to a “gentle place.” “Gentle place” was the name given to a place known to be inhabited by fairies. This farmer had lost a number of cattle. On one occasion he had a cow sick and a neighbour came to help him to give some medicine to the cow. They did not consider the cow very bad. The farmers
