  1. Marriages take place all the year round except during Lent and Advent. Before Lent or as that season is called “Shrovetide” is, perhaps, the most popular time. Some people believe this to be the luckiest time to get married. It may be because the holy season of Lent follows. It is considered unlucky to get married on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
