  1. There was a spring well in a feild about half a mile from the town of Ballyshannon on the road to Belleek. Once upon a time when the old British soldiers called red-coats were in this town they went on a march to the town of Belleek. The day was very hot and when the soldiers were coming home they went to this field where the well was, and washed their dirty socks in it. The next day when the people went for water they found the had changed to the other side of the Road and it is there ever since.
