    On the North side of the little Abbey River, there is a rude, rough, rugged rock on which mass used be said by the monks of Abbey Assroe. There is also a a water font in which water never dries. And also a crude shape of a skull carved in a rock.

    In the the town-land of Carrick Na Horna there is a black thorn tree, where there was a priest was murdered by soldiers of the English during the penal times. He was hung afterwards he was shot through the troat. And the the spirit of this priest is said to be still seen.
