  1. The ford now extends from about 100 yards below the Eel Weir, and goes straight across to the back of Nawn’s garage. In Summer it is quiet visible from the bridge and can be crossed in safety if careful. It is said that when Seannaigh was crossing the Ford that he was swept off the Ford, and was carried to his doom over the falls. Hence Béal Átha Seannaigh. This ford is out of use since the bridge was made.
