The used eat anything eatable they got and even if they found bits of bread on the street they eat] them. They were always very dirty because of this. They made their living by singing and begging and they lived in Caravans.Until a few years ago tinkers were quite common around Ballyshannon but they were threatened to be arrested if they camped around the Mall, their favourite camping place, and since then very few have stopped in Ballyshannon.
- The Weirs come at varying intervals. They make their living by selling tin-cans, porengers, and tin-wares. Sometimes they travel in caravans but usually they go on foot and sleep in the open. The people of Ballyshannon call them tinkers.The Coons are almost the same as the Weirs.Besides these they there are others who(continues on next page)
