    A wet and showery May fills the garden full of hay.
    March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.
    A green Xmas, a fat graveyard.
    A wet May, and a dry June makes the farmer whistle a merry tune.
    A rainbow in the morning is the shepherd’s warning.
    A rainbow at night is the shepherd’s delight.
    The borrowing days – the first four days of April – the killed the old cow. The old cow is supposed to have survived cold days of march, and was highly delighted to her sorrow she discovered that April had borrowed four days from March and these were so bad that she died.
