  1. Will ' the Wisp is in Farney a wandering fairy who only appears in certain places at certain times. Tom McCable a local fiddler of Aghnafarcon Co. Monaghan related once that he saw Will ' the Wisp at the spot in a meadow where he had buried a cow. Will ' the Wisp in the minds of the people of Aghnafarcon townland was in some way associated with the burial place of dead domestic animals, as the cow and the horse.
