  1. Ingredients:-
Finely chopped young nettles, water, pepper and salt. The dumplings were made of oaten meal and flour and were rolled into the shape of balls about the size of a good sized apple. The dumplings were put into the broth which was allowed to simmer for two hours over a slow fire. The meal was not very appetising; it was another of the Hallow'een dishes in the Broomfield district but it is unknown at the present time.
