  1. Long ago at Bullock harbour a number of men were playing cards under a lamp one night. They were playing into the morning when the lamp went out. One man got a candle and they went to Bullock steps. They were playing for a while when a man came down the steps and asked could he play. The man began to play and won every game. The men began to look on him with wonder. After a while a coin fell and the men stooped to pick it up, when they saw he had a cloven foot, and they all ran home.
