  1. A great cure for chilblains is to get a carrot and grate it up into small pieces and then get a piece of lard or unsalted butter and mix them together, until they form an ointment. Rub it on the chilblains and soon they will vanish.
    A cure for rheumatism is to cut an onion in halves and rub the juice of it on the pain.
    A cure for warts is to sting it with a nettle, or dip the hand with the (word) warts into and old tree, containing water. Repeat this action every day until the warts go.
    A good way of getting rid of ugly boils, is to get a spoon-
