  1. About sixty years ago on the Ballyorney road a strange incident occurred. It was on the 12th July and a catholic priest was riding up the road on his horse when three Orangemen came down the road towards him. The names of the three were, Jones, Williams, and Carter, Jones being the youngest. As they neared the priest Williams winked at Carter and said to Jones, "wait till you see us take a rise out of the fellow" (priest) Williams caught the horse's bridle while Carter pulled the priest off and dragged him along the road.
