    "Blackrock House."
In the year 1641 Blackrock House was built by the Earl of Stafford, Thomas Wentowrth. He was King Charles' Deputy in Eire. The night he came to live in the house he was called to England and beheaded.
The Grounds stretch down to the Sea and there is a small harbour where some of the English Nobles sailed into, on their barges.
Many important English people stayed in the House until the 19th century. It was repaired in 1935 and is still a well-known land mark.
