    "The Widow Gamble's Hill"
was seen by many people, passing from end to end of the steep hill. Last year some persons believe they saw the ghost and for a time people used visit the hill at night in order to see the ghost.
The hill extends from the cross-roads in Mounttown to the end of Carrick-Brenna Road. It is one of the boundaries of the celebrated Monkstown Castle which was inhabited by the Monks and Nuns long ago but it is now owned by Doctor DeCourcy Wheeler.
The hill is named after the Widow Gamble and it is called "The Widow Gamble's Hill"
