  1. The people in this locality do not tell very much old stories, and therefore I cannot find out many.
    The American's say that the Irish people never die.
    One time an American, was passing by Brittas, and he saw and old man, 98, years of age, sitting by the road-side crying, and he asked him what was he crying for, and he answered,
    "Because I was beaten",
    "For what?
    "For throwing stones at my grand-father.

    "Well Tom any news today," said the Land-Lord,
    "No your honour," said Tom, but I was dreaming of you and your Lady,
