  1. Most of the old people of this locality are now dead so that I cannot gather much information about hedge schools and their masters.
    It is stated that Mr. Mulried who died recently, went to a school at Malone's Bank, where Seamus O Dowd's gate is now.
    It is again stated that about half a mile from the school Mr. Finnegan used to teach.
    Mr Black used to go around from house to house teaching.
