  1. The Hermitage Golf Club is about a mile and a half east of Lucan. There are many old tales about the Hermitage wood. The one I am going to write about is The Hermitage Cave. A long time ago, it is said that a hermit used to live in the cave. The Cave is about a quarter of a mile from the Hermitage Golf Club. If anybody from Dublin wanted to see the cave he would have to get the tram to the Hermitage. Then go down to the Club house, and around to the back of it where he would see a path which leads into the wood. He would follow that path along the top
