Lord Annaly was talking to the man, when his pipe dropped from his mouth,he stooped to pick it up, and (he) caught sight of a cloven foot; then he knew who the man was; it was the devil. Lord Annaly told him to begone, and the devil vanished.
Ever since that the mill has been called the "the Devil's Mill."
