  1. Long ago there were many funny stories told. Some historic, others "make up". One bright night as a school master was walking along the road branching from Lucan to Clonee there was a certain shed on the side of this road where fairies were supposed to dance and sing. Now just as the man was passing the shed, chains began to rattle and the door of the shed was being kicked. The man was afraid first, but he ventured over to see what it was, when he went over what was there but an ass tied up in chains!
