  1. It is said by some old people that there was an old miser years and years ago who lived some where around Lucan, and that he hid all the money he got away in Esker district. Ther story goes, he had crocks of gold and silver. But when anybody who was looking for alms asked for some of his hoard he told them that he had no money.
Some years past he was still storing up his money. He took ill and he was told by the doctor that he was about to die, and he was worried about his money. When he died the people found his treasure and there were millions of his worth of gold and silver.
