    and like many such tales is probably founded on fact, though it bears some resemblance to the lengtly ossianic romace of Diamuid and Grainne. The well-known tale of Tristan and Isolda is founded on that of Diarmuid and Grainne and significantly enough when we note the proximity of the two places, the village of Chapelizod is said to have obtained its name from the same Isolda beloved of Tristan and daughter of Aengus King of Ireland.
