  1. There are many noted heroes in the village of Swords, three of the most noted are, Pat Savage, Pat White and Willie Kelly.
    Pat Savage was noted for lifting heavy weights. He lifted a sack of potatoes with his teeth and held it there for half an hour.
    A great competition for good runnings was held in Swords long ago in which Pat White joined. It was a race of twelve miles and he reached his destination half an hour before the others.
    Willie Kelly ran three miles in five minutes
