  1. Long ago Swords had many Landlords most of whom were English.
    These were = Colonel Foster who resided in a beautiful big house called the Billet in the village.
    Mr Hutchension lived in another beautiful house in Lissen Hall, which still stands up to its name.
    Mr Baker lived in a nice little house in Balheary about 1/2 mile from Swords. And M Angier lived in a big house in Rathbeale about 2 1/2 miles from the village.
    Colonel Foster owned the lands for miles around
