  1. Football is one of the greatest pleasures to the people of Swords and people come from far and wide to see this delightful game which was played in a sheltered place at the bottom of the town.
    Two famous teams were founded, one was named the Fingallions and the other the Colm Cilles. They distinguished themselves in many places through out Ireland.
    Other games were played also, the most popular of them were hurling and handball. Although
