  1. An Old Song - The Beautiful Balbriggan

It was in the nice Summer season,

It was in the nice Summer season,
To Hampton I straightaway did steer,
The sweet feathered songsters most charming,
Their notes they enchanted my ear.
There were buttercups, cowslips and daisies
And a lustre bespangled this shade.
In the summer house bedecked with posies I speed the sweet Balbriggan maid.
    II
I stood for some time and I pondered,
And I gazed on that matchless dame.
Was it Diana or Flora descended the sun to invade
Oh no, it was sweet Fanny House,
    The beautiful Balbriggan Maid.
