    sustained minor injuries, but luckily the engine did not go on fire. The girl received severe head injuries as well as minor injuries she was attended by the priest and doctor and later removed to her home where she is now progressing favourably.
    A sad tragedy occured near the school about fourteen years ago, at Dermotstown a small village less than half a mile north of the school, Mr John Murray a Dermotstown foarmer returned from Balbriggan driving a horse and cart when he stopped outside his own door to unyoke the horse he fell from the cart and broke his neck.
