at "Ardla Lane" near Melverton Skerries there there is a wood and in this wood there is a tree in which there is a "Altar". It is said that the priests said mass in this place, there is also a statue of the "Blessed Virgin" there still.
All these troubles went on till 1829 the Act of Emancipation was passed and the Catholic Priests was free to say mass in chapels like what we have now.
