  1. Religious Story
    Long ago when Cromwell was on his way to Clonmel he came to Mothel and killed the monks in the monastery. One of the monks escaped but he was followed by the soldiers and killed in Ballincurra Clonea. Years after a workman saw a monk saying Mass by the ditch with two little boys serving. There was a priest here in Mothel named Fr.Whelan who went to the place and saw the priest dressed in military officers clothes. The field used to be filled with people to see the vision.
