Story
“There was an ass on an island and he had all the grass which was growing on it eaten.”
The following is a story which was told to me by my grandfather, who is ninety five years of age. It is "given out" at a party etc:-
There was an ass on an island and he had all the grass which was growing on it eaten. There was a cock of hay on the mainland and he was not ferried to it, nor he didnot swim to it, nor the hay was not brought to him
how did he get to it?
Then you would ask everybody would they give up and if they would give up you would say
"So did the ass."
