If a person was ill and got better on a Sunday or Friday that was a sign that the person would almost certainly get ill again within the four next four days. Tradition in this locality offers this explanation that a certain old cow boasted that no cold could kill her and when the cold month of March was over the cow boasted and laughed at March. So in order to get even with the cow March borrowed three days from April and the cow died with the cold. July is called "July na Cabáiste" and "August na Sméara".
