    clothes were given to some poor person to wear at the funeral and in the coffin was placed a pipe and matches if the corpse were a man. In the woman's coffin it was usual to put a bottle of Potteen, as it is said women are tired and thirsty on a long journey. When the Coffin reached the graveyard the woman would begin their weird chanting again and would keep on until every body had left the graves.
