    There is a field in Ballinamona called "The Captain's Hill". It is called after a captain who lived in Ballinamona long ago. Near the Killure road is a place called "Carriag na mbuaibh. There is a large rock in the midde of field. In thenSummer the cows go up on the rock from the heat. It is surrounded by trees. Near Ballinamona is a lane called Quilty's lane. It was owned by a rich man named Quilty who lived in the district.
