The clouds look black, the glass is low."
We hear many signs of weather from the people at home. When the wind blows depressed and melancholy rain is near. When the far-off hills look gloomy and appear to be near we will have rain, and when the swift-winged swallow swoops low on a Summer's evening we will also have rain. When a thundering sound comes from the sea near Annestown, we can be looking forward to rain and cold weather. When a misty fog assembles in the boggy moorland, heat and good weather are nigh.
