  1. There is a story my mother told me about the Glas Gamhnach. The Glas Gamnach was a grey stripper. She used be seen at Carriganoor, near Powers Castle in a field called black knock. This stripper used supply all the poor people of the place with milk. She would fill with milk any vessel however big. There was one old witch who was envious of the people who used to milk the cow. One day she met one of them and an argument arose between them. The woman said that the cow would fill the milk with any vessel however big. The old witch said, 'I will wager that I'll bring a vessel that she cannot fill.' The next day she came to milk the cow into a sieve. She kept on milking
