  1. Some time ago there was a woman named Mrs. Hally buried in Kill cemetery. She came from a place called Knockaturney in the parish of Rathgormac. She should have been buried in Mothel by right but by some mistake she was buried in Kill. She was only a short time buried when it is said that her dead friends came from Mothel one night and brought her home and buried her there. One night at twelve o'clock a hearse and many traps following came into the village of Kill and stopped at the little chapel gate. It was the old police who were there then. Two of the police, namely Sergeant McClure and Cosyable Morrow were on duty. They happened to be sitting on the window-sill of Mr. Cooney's house which was then Morrissey's. They got a great fright when they saw the hearse and traps approaching and the people going into the graveyard. They saw the coffin being taken from the graveyard and put in the hearse. The funeral went off by the road leading to Kilmacthomas. There was a man named James Carthy who lived in Ballinlough going home from Kill when he met the funeral. He was
